CanPowerskate September Prep Camp

PowerSkate 

U7/U9:
This Power program is designed for skaters ages 4-9 who are interested in hockey or ringette. This program helps to enhance basic skating abilities in a power skating-specific environment, including balance skills, forward and backward skating, stopping, turning and agility skills. Skaters must wear full equipment (including sticks).
 
Req:
 
  1. Must have played 1 year of hockey and or ringette, or completed Level 4 in Canskate.( If you do not know your Canskate level please inquire)
  2. If your skater does not meet the first requirement an on ice assessment will be done on the first day. If your skater can not complete the assessment we will find a better suited program for your skater ( Assessment: 1 forward skate the length of the rink, 1 backward skate the width of the rink, 1 stop)
  3. Must be in full equipment, No exceptions, this includes a properly sized stick
  4. There will be no formal evaluations sent home but can be provided. Please just ask your instructor or email to inquire
  5. Each skater will receive a certificate upon session completion.

 

U11+
 
Geared towards skaters interested in hockey or ringette ages 10 and above. This program is more advanced and fast paced. Each session will be begin with and balance, stride or edge class. You will continue to grow in Balance, Control and Agility skating in a power specific environment.
 
Req:
 
  1. Must have played 1 year of hockey and or ringette, or completed Level 6 in Canskate, or previous Power skate.( If you do not know your Canskate level please inquire)
  2. If your skater does not meet the first requirement an on ice assessment will be done on the first day. If your skater can not complete the assessment we will find a better suited program for your skater ( Assessment: 1 forward skate around the rink the rink, 1 backward skate the length of the rink, 1 stop)
  3. Must be in full equipment, No exceptions, this includes a properly sized stick

Additional Fees

All skaters are required to have an annual Skate Canada Membership by the national governing body. These memberships are valid each year from September 1- August 31. All new skaters will be charged an annual Safe Sport fee and Participant Accident Insurance fee in additional to the Skate Canada Membership. The $58.70 will be added to your cart at the time of check out in the online registration system, unless you have previously purchased this season’s membership.
